When I wasn't working, I was watching. The joy that came from observing the production take shape was something I hadn't expected. I saw the piece evolve and enjoyed the subtle shifts that occurred as the life of the play became deeper and richer. What a
privilege it was to see how words on a page become a living, breathing work of
art.
It was also a privilege to understudy someone as generous and open as Terri
Eoff, who played Candida. Her unending support put me at ease. We had a special collaboration of our own. We struggled together and laughed together as we tried to define a difficult, sometimes elusive role. I was
continually inspired by and learned so much from the patience, discipline and grace that led her to such a beautiful interpretation.
When I talk to anyone about being 'Candida Two,' I inevitably say how lucky I feel to have been part of this production. Being a intern with The Roundtable Ensemble was a
unique and wonderful hands-on experience."
The Roundtable Ensemble has continued to offer positions to interns in all aspects of our productions. We have had students assisting various designers as well as working on shows as technicians and board operators. The experience of participating in a professional theater production has been extremely valuable to these interns. The gratitude received for these opportunities has inspired us to continue and expand this program for our future productions.
